Size does often matter. And, when talking abut the form factor of photographic equipment, often (but not always) the smaller the better (as long as quality is not compromised). And the Sigma 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS lens is just that: small. And lighter than you'd imagine.

In short, we loved the lens and the image quality is superb - way sharper than I would ever have believed possible. We took one to Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana to try it out and it was a joy to use for both stills and video.

Looks an excellent lens - and you got some fantastic shots, thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed the overlay of bush sounds during the sample images, rather than music - very calming, and helped take me back to my own safari last year.
Have subscribed to your channel, cheers from Derbyshire

Thanks for the review! I'm considering to buy this lens, it's great to take on trips as it's light. Not really a fan of the bokeh quality though as expected from a 5.6 lens. Seems distracting if there's a bush or tree a few meters behind the subject. Either this lens or save up a bit for the Sony 400mm 2.8
