their behaviour in the wild is so much nicer to see than the otter pet videos I’ve watched thanks.

I lived near a large fishing river as a child but where I lived there were a lot of backwashes into ponds and little creeks. There were always otters hanging out by the river waiting for salmon and stuff. They were always super friendly and showoffs. I remember when I was like 7 years old and I was wading through some water and one swam right by my legs. Thought it was the coolest thing ever.

i felt in love with otters... how is that even possible to approach them so close and get video of them without distracting them from their life? thanks for this amazing footage of nature..

Watching this footage is *almost* as thrilling as seeing the real thing. I'm including this video in a Nevada County (California) watershed blog post about North American River Otters (scheduled for publishing around Dec. 21st, 2020) I've heard rumors of neighbors seeing them occasionally and there are a few iNaturalist observations noted within twenty miles, but there is little community-wide knowledge of these charismatic animals living in the area. I hope your imagery and my writing encourages more folks in the western states to become otter spotters and conservation effort contributors. THANK YOU for your expertise and equipment investment, video editing, and for sharing your work!

When it gets to the part with the snow, something is calling from the woods, and I thought "Sasquatch". What was it?
