Hello this is Mathhew from i love free software tv. In this video, I will talk about a free open-source OCR tool based on Google Cloud Vision.

Cloud OCR Snip is a free and open-source tool that you can use on Windows to extract text from images. It is very accurate as it is based on Google Cloud Vision and you can use it for free. It can extract text from almost anywhere on the computer screen.

Using it is very simple. You can download its setup from its GitHub release.

After downloading, you just install it and then follow the configuration wizard.

First, click agree to the policy and then proceed. It will ask you a service account key from your Google Cloud account.

So, go to Google Cloud, create a project, and enable cloud vision. Next, from the keys section, download the JSON file.

Locate the downloaded JSON key file and specify that in Cloud OCR snip tool.

Finally, enter the language that you want to use it for to extract text. For now, it only supports English, so specify that.

Now, you can start using it. Click on its system tray icon to select an area on the screen that contains some text. It will instantly show you the extracted text.

Let's try it on this meme. Just activate the tool again and select the text properly in the meme. Give it a few seconds and then it will show you the extracted text.

The text that it extracts can be saved to a text file. Or, you can simply copy it to the clipboard.

This all about this simple Google Cloud Vision based OCR tool.

I need one that makes it easy to do batch processing of local files, but uses Cloud Vision API which gives very good results.

Please give the full tutorial. I did everything of this video but it shows an error "Transcription is not possible because billing has been disabled in your account or the Cloud Vision API has not been activated."
