A Day in the Life of a Medical Student | Pediatrics Emergency Medicine

This week I started my Pediatrics rotation in the Emergency Department, I'm also preparing for STEP 2.

I'm Precious, a 4th year medical student documenting my experience through this crazy journey. Along the way, I hope to provide advice to pre-med and med students and motivation to any student pursing a career in the medical field.

The thing about following your heart and your mind literally just made me tear up! I just changed my career path for like the third time back to what I had planned when I entered college! Took one class that discouraged me so much so I switched to nursing but knew I didn’t want to do it, then to peds optometry bc I still didn’t think I could make it through med school, now I’m back to peds neurology or developmental peds bc I’ve always been passionate ab kids w disabilities and the boy I’m babysitting this summer has autism and he just kinda made me realize I’m meant to work w kids who have disabilities! Also transferred like three times bc I struggled to find myself lol and now I’ll be at the school I’ve always regret not going to!
