Welcome to the BlockU Animation Tool Kit.
BlockU is a collection of geometry assets and OBJ sequences that have been created with the After Effects plug-in ‘Element 3D’ and its animation engine primarily in mind.
There is a FREE update for the BlockU Animation Tool Kit.
You will see 3 new files to download.
The Extra Shapes folder has some extra hi poly rectangles to help with close up and some added shapes like tubes and cylinders. Some of the shapes have been cut into rings instead of the usual squares. This enables a different type of animation that involves whole sections of the shapes turning on its axis to perform image or video transitions. Or whatever other creative use you can imagine.
The Flag Builder folder is a collection of shapes that are specifically designed to work easily together to help in the quick assembly of flags. The idea is that all the shapes and components in this folder have the most common dimensions necessary to build a flag quickly and that they all share similar wire frame scale so that the animated particles are of a similar size.
The Letters folder contains another alphabet of the same font that has been fractured as before but this time they are broken up into fewer pieces. This helps when the camera is further away from the word or letter. When the font is too broken up and the camera has been pulled back the pieces are not so well defined and it can be difficult to see clearly from a distance what is going on in the animation. The larger pieces help with this problem.
