Yeah Vaseline or lip balm just stops the cells from shedding and adds a protective barrier. When lips are chapped it helps because it gives the cells a chance to regenerate.

At night, after brushing my teeth, I apply water to my lips and then immediately put a layer of Vaseline on top, thereby trapping the layer of water between my lips and the Vaseline. Haven’t had chapped lips in years.

Petroleum has a lot of harsh chemicals, found wax balm and coconut oil to work best.

I'd rather not use Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly for my lips. I prefer to use this bush cream that I buy from tribal elders up North (from me). It has natural ingredients in it & it does wonders for my skin!! I love it!!

Hello doctor, I have a lot of respect for you but …..“PETROLEUM” jelly?! So if you lick out of habit how can it be good to lick petroleum here?! There are non- petroleum alternatives.

I no longer use Petroleum jelly or Patrolatum based products. Instead i prefer coconut or olive oil. The EU has classified peteolatum as a carcinogen and strictly limits its use in cosmetics. Petrolium jelly is a bi-product of making fuels and otherwise would be discarded, but, they found a way to make massive amounts of money from it which is why you wont see many Nations allowing information to be revealed regaurding it. Just some FYI for everyone 😊❤🙏 hope it helped

Vaseline contains Petroleum which is toxic. I wouldn't recommend using it on your lips (or anywhere else on your body) when there are much safer natural products available that contain natural oils / or shea butter. Generally speaking, you've offered alot of helpful advice in other areas, however you dropped the ball on this one. Wishing you and all your UTUBE followers a Blessed Day.

So maybe something like applying oil based to lips like almond oil can add moisture to lips then lock it in with Vaseline ontop.
