What is collision coverage?

Collision coverage is something that covers your vehicle in the event it is damaged. Quite honestly a lot of people get confused when they're buying insurance, they think that property damage coverage protects their car. It doesn't, property damage coverage protects or repairs other peoples damage, not your own. When you have collision coverage that is what's going to help repair or replace your vehicle in the event of an accident whether or not it's your fault. I would always recommend people obtain at least a bare level of collision coverage because there are a lot of people on the road that are driving without any insurance whatsoever and you're on the hook.
