Supreme Court upholds ban on guns for people under domestic violence restraining orders

The 8-1 opinion was authored by Chief Justice John Roberts. Justice Clarence Thomas dissented.

The Supreme Court made a good ruling in this case. People who are under a court order of protection are not mentally stable and shouldn’t be able to buy a firearm until their order of protection is lifted (presumably after proving that they pose no threat or danger to others ).

🤔 I am Okay with this one. They never said zero rules or regulations. The rights of women to be protected from violence; should not play second to that of the Drug dealing abuser. "AS long, " as there is due process and ability of review and challenge the order.

If someone wants a gun they will get a gun. There is no piece of paper or words that's going to prevent someone from doing something that there are already going to do. This is pointless.

I was never convicted. They kept my guns, arrested me. Court did not convict me. Wife had a major stroke and died in 2014. We were still living together. They stole my guns and the tbi will not let me buy anymore. How long is temporary??

Wishing safety for all. However drug dealers, criminals, etc don’t give a Flying F what the law is. When seconds count, the law is just minutes away at best.
