Long Beach house plagued by squatters catches on fire

A burned down home in Long Beach has neighbors worried after squatters continue to loiter and trash the property despite it being closed off. Mekahlo Medina reports for the NBC4 News on April 26, 2024.

It's obviously an elderly person that owns it, if they are the original owners of a 1930s home and their spouse is listed as deceased. If they don't live there themselves anymore, they are probably in an assisted living facility/ senior home. The city fining them isn't helping anyone. How does a little old lady/man get past the squatters to do repairs if the city can't even force them out. The owner obvious need help from the city, not harassment.

This is LA-the homeless, mentally ill and squatters get to do whatever they want. No one cares about "young families" or anyone else..it's all about protecting the squatters. When will people understand that criminals have all the rights? Geez...

Yes, that is what happens all the time, squatters move in empty houses or businesses and then fire brakes out for unknown reasons.
