In this video, we walk through how to use the Circuit Breaker TCC Curve Library in PowerDB with the Megger SPI225 High Current Primary Injection Test System. Using this library allow you to save valuable time, as the PowerDB software will automatically generate a full report once all measurements have been completed.

The Megger SPI225 is a high current primary injection test system for all forms of high current testing required in a substation, including testing overcurrent relays, circuit breakers, motor overloads and current transformers. It is the smallest, lightest primary injection test system designed to perform high current testing on switchgear, current transformers and ground fault protection systems and a multitude of other high current testing applications.

The SPI system is the FIRST high current test systems to permit a user to type in a predetermined current and the SPI system will generate and regulate the requested high current without preheating the test sample by pulsing the output current at high currents. The SPI system also has the unique ability to turn on at the current zero crossing every time for any load by automatically adjust the output firing angle. This eliminates DC offset for every circuit breaker type and the need for the user to determine and adjust the firing angle for different loads and circuit breakers.

Megger PowerDB is a powerful software package providing data management for each of your acceptance and maintenance testing jobs. It controls a vast variety of Megger electrical test sets and effectively manages the data accumulated during testing. Customer and contract information is quickly sorted and searched. Opening a specific record shows detailed information about the job, such as type of service, order date, sales contact, and invoice information. Job information and related test results can be transferred between field-use databases and a master database. Job and Device Productivity Reports track the time spent testing, which aids in bidding future jobs as well as personnel evaluation.
