Miles Morales IS comicbook canon, he's now part of the Earth 616 universe & has been since the dimensional incursion storylines, where the 'Ultimate' universe was destroyed, just before Secret Wars.
And to include Miles too soon would be a mistake, let Peter have his MCU run & then introduce Miles as Spidey afterwards, so we can have twice as many Spidey movies

Miles' uncle Aaron is the powler. So it is more than a nod. It could be foreshadowing a fight between him and spidey as a villain. If it was a nod, they would have used his dad who was an undercover shield agent.

The Ultimate Universe Peter Parker was 16 when he died. I distinctly remember him having his 16th birthday at the end of the story arc that came right before the one that killed him.

I could see Miles introduced into the MCU in 2 ways. First, Peter slightly down the line, say 5-6 years from now, has to stop being Spiderman for some reason, injury, loss of powers, lack of will, etc and trains Miles to be his replacement or successor. Second, Peter realises really quickly that he can't stop every villain in Queens by himself, he meets Miles who, also having powers and being inspired by Spiderman, gets taken under Peter's wing, the inexpeienced teacher story would be great, and becomes Kid Arachnid.

The thing about Miles that annoys me is what happens at 00:16 in; Is there ANYTHING MORE to this character than he's half Black and half Hispanic. I do not know anything else about Miles Morales other than, and say it with me, he's half Black and half Hispanic. Website after Website brings this up.... What a legendary character! WOW! What are his powers, history, fellow heroes he calls friends, enemies, or even relationship to the original Spiderman? WHO CARES HE'S HALF BLACK AND HALF HISPANIC! Who cares what his race is? Shouldn't there be more to a character?Good Lord!
