What people like Zegler seem not to comprehend is that classic fairy tales, myths, folklore, etc. contain life lessons and allegories that transcend decades, generations, even centuries and millennia. There's something of value to be learned. Human nature hasn't changed one iota since 1937 or since our ancestors dwelt in caves. Surface externalities change and of course the base of general knowledge grows and expands, but for her to assume she's morally superior, wiser, more righteous or more enlightened than everyone who happened to live in the 1930s is the height of shallow, petty arrogance.

Reminds me a a Shakspeare quote from King John (1595). The actual line is:
"To gild refined gold, to paint the lily, to throw a perfume on the violet… is wasteful and ridiculous excess."

Adding more (like gilding gold or painting a lily) is unnecessary and can even detract from their natural perfection. Leave Snow White as it
