Real-time 3D ultrasound reconstruction using 3D Slicer + SlicerIGT

Ultrasound is inexpensive, portable, non-invasive imaging modality, which can be combined with low-cost position-tracking systems to reconstruct 3D model of internal structures in real-time.
This demo video shows how 3D Slicer and its SlicerIGT extension can be configured to implement such a 3D imaging system. First part of the video shows how to set up the data acquisition and visualization from scratch (need to be done only once, as all the settings can be saved in the 3D Slicer scene file). Second part of the video shows bone surface reconstruction example on a femur head phantom using two reconstruction methods (maximum and mean).
