Two reasons for classifying documents: To protect the people affected by the information... To protect the people responsible for the information.

The "hacking" issue is not really about Canada per se but about the infrastructure between the USA and Canada being "hacked", destroyed, or held for "ransom". Pipelines wander all over the North American continent and the various oil and gas corporations have been "advised", told those lines ARE vulnerable, yet even now the surveillance is spotty at best. Pipeline leaks aren't noticed until there's a drop in pressure. 🤦‍♀️

Apart from the casualty figures, the Pentagon has not claimed that any of them are false and, believe me, they would know that immediately.
