Can os.path.join() create folders or it only joins directories ?

I wanna know if it is possible that the path that needs to be join comes from users input
i define f with a path, and user just needs too informe the sub folder, and file that he needs...so i need to join that....

hi, i have a bug, using my jupyter notebook I try to load imdb database, but in this database the backslash(\) is use to make a new line, no like a path separator
