Alex Sinclair is without doubt the best digital colourist in DC. He completes Jim Lee's art like no one else does.

Poor guy deserves to have his name either in the title or the thumbnail.

Over rendering also has a tendency to make things look muddy. Part of the wonderfulness of comics is their vibrancy. Great interview, thanks so much!

Bro the markers theory just sold me! I've always said what a waste it is, like just with Microns when they dry out, and how many artists with money just buy them by the ton. But think of how much plastic youre putting in the earth for just 1 ml of ink. Thanks for sharing this and to Alex.

-I love how the red and blue sections aren't necessarily defined in the outfit ..I would've made the blue end here and red begin there and it wouldve looked totally forced and unnatural..that was really helpful to see how you just let the two flow into one another..gdjob-

This is amazing! BTW, where can I find a Copic Carrying Case like that? I just want the case, since I’m up to 240 Copic Sketch Markers for my collection.

Where’d you get the Copic set with the briefcase

I don’t think I can touch a commissioned artwork with color. I would just take the “cheater” way by scanning it and coloring it with digital colors. You would need to be determined to use real color markers on this artwork, especially if you don’t have that huge marker case that he does.

I’ve always wanted to be a color artist, so can you tell me how I can learn to cry like that from too late or too old?
