I've never found a song before that encapsulates the feeling of missing someone you've never met. I live alone and have never had a serious friendship, let alone relationship. I daydream all the time about my partner. Sometimes, I comment on social media as if he is a real person, recalling events in our lives that never happened. Listening to this song never fails to make my cry when I realize those lyrics are true... It's not real, he doesn't exist, and probably never will. I still need to work on accepting the fact I'm dying alone, with maybe the exception of my cats. ❤

This song also reminds me of what it feels like to be with a person who isn’t good for you, and you keep imagining in your head what you want this person to be like for you, that you hold tightly to every sign that he gives you of being the person you always dreamed of, and you create this idea that he has everything you need, when in truth you would be better off without him.
That was me, until I found the person who actually is my best friend, now partner, and it was unmistakeable that I spent too much time with the wrong person.
