Russian military activity around Ukraine's borders has intensified in the last 48 hours, according to new satellite pictures. Fears that Russia is going to invade Ukraine have prompted the tremendous build-up.
Maxar's high-resolution satellite photographs over the last 48 hours reveal a major buildup of Russian forces in Belarus, Crimea, and western Russia.
The arrival of many big contingents of troops and assault helicopters is part of the new activity. Ground attack aircraft and fighter-bomber jets are also shown deployed at forward sites in the photographs.
Several ground force units have departed established garrisons and are forming a convoy with other combat units.
