Managing Responsive Behaviours in Residents with Dementia: Dining to Learn

Responsive Behaviors in residents suffering from dementia are amongst the most challenging things in long-term care homes. Behaviors like uncontrolled vocalizations, physical or verbal responsive behaviors, disrobing, exit seeking, and others challenge everyone who lives or works in long-term care.

Thankfully, non-drug interventions, sometimes when combined with careful use of medications, can be very successful in addressing many of these behaviors.

This talk will examine both medication and non-medication interventions and discuss when each, or a combination, is appropriate.
