You can not murder an animal, but you can kill it. This right here, by definition, disproves or, at the very least, discredits their argument. Killing animals for consumption is allowed by and under the law because it is seen as necessary for human survival. Great looking steak, Doc. NEXT!

Plants can communicate with other plants via releasing volatile chemicals or using underground fungal networks. This communication can help neighboring plants to prepare for potential threats, such as vegans. 😂

As soon as people start to realize that the best way to debate a vegan is to say that plants are also sentient
and suffer, they moral ground collapses. That is the crux of the matter, and when faced to it their immediate reaction
is appealing to all sorts of _ad hominem_ attacks or withdrawing from debate entirely. This is because not only their entire
ideological foundation is gone, but also turned against themselves (if plants suffer than they are also murderers).

Their triggered reaction is the byproduct of their identities being put in check and their egos reacting as if facing an existential threat.

I wonder if this tactic becoming more common in the future wont cause the big plant-based players in the marketplace to start
funding studies in order to disprove that plants are sentient and suffer as well. That's their only way out (redefining reality) just like
they did with cats and dogs, claiming that they arent obligate carnivores so that it can not only explain why vegans are allowed to have
dogs and cats as pets, but also justify them feeding them vegan kibble, all without committing "cruelty" and "animal abuse".

We just had a heifer home butchered. The rest of the herd (2 cows, 1 heifer and 1 steer) stood around and watched the whole process. They were curious but completely unconcerned. That heifer was born on our property and the cows had known her for 2 and a half years, the steer and heifer their whole lives (around 18 months). They haven't called for her or looked for her. Life goes on.

I graduated Cum Laude with my degree in Regenerative Organic Agriculture, not only is it 100% accurate that plants have the ability to feel, hear, share water resources with eachother & exchange nutrients with the soil to uptake nutrients that they have I less abundance, but the amount of habitats destroyed for mono-cropping doesn't even begin to consider the number of small animals killed by threshers & other large agriculture machinery. I'm about 90% carnivore & occassionaly enjoy some veggies, but I don't pretend one way of eating is mroe morally appropriate than another.

I was looking at some scientific studies about plants the other day. You know that beautiful smell of freshly cut grass in the summer? It's now understood that all plants give off chemicals when they've been seriously wounded or are dying. We usually can't smell it because one wounded flower doesn't have a strong scent. But when you cut a lawn, that beautiful smell is the scent of tens of thousands of terribly wounded grass blades, screaming. These people seem to think they're morally superior because they're not slaughtering a "living" thing. I hope they remember that next time they smell a freshly cut lawn.
