Hi Lucy, I'm filming with 50mm Canon lens 1:1.8 and it's really good for blurring your background and portraits photography.

The G7X mkiii is in the pipeline, but I decided to go with the Canon M50. Well worth considering if you're sizing up new cameras. It already films in 4K, has a larger sensor size, so better quality footage in low light and you can change the lenses on it. I also have a 5D mkii and use the lenses from that sometimes. Depending on the mounts, you could maybe use the lenses from your other camera, or get a conversion ring for it. Hope this helps! x

You actually can achieve bokeh quite decently with the G7X II if you know how to work your iso triangle. If you are a beginner or cant be bothered to remember the confusing info, you can shoot in Av mode which prioritizes aperture. Simply set the aperture to a low number, select the subject you want to track focus and the camera will take care of the rest.

If you have issues with the subject staying in focus, press and hold the shutter button half way for a moment to lock on

its not as powerful as a proper dslr but but its pretty darn good for close ups imo and ive gotten successful b roll with it before

I film on my Canon G7x Mark ii and it’s amazing!!! 😍 I love it and I take most of my photos on it too. I only have the iPhone 7 but I want the iPhone X haha. xxx
