My mom used to scrub my skin with Korean washcloths when I was a kid. It was painful but my skin was sooooo smooth afterwards!

As a Moroccan kid, this was the a torture device used against dirty kids. The problem is, we are ALL dirty

Hopefully, you talk to us about this cloth and standard washcloths in general 🙂 Have a great weekend!

I took a shower once when I was little and I had no idea this was dead skin. I think I thought that it was like a paper or an eraser but it scared the crap outta me 😅

Funny thing is that washcloth is called 'Italy towel' in Korea

Fun fact: In Turkey there are baths specifically for this. It‘s a very hot and steamy so the skin can come of easily, they are too rough sometimes though.

This doctor has such beauty … I feel his goodness and honesty translates so easily across his videos, I wish he’d start a YouTube channel. Whenever I watch his tic Tok videos … invariably I find myself smiling. This man is simply a
“source of joy”. 😊

Fun fact: for some reason Koreans call it the “Italian towel” (이태리 타올, as it says on the package)...please don’t ask me why because I have no idea

We've been doing this in Morocco for centuries. It's called a Moroccan bath. It's also famous in Syria and Turkey. These sort of baths were famous all over North Africa and the Middle East.

I am Tunisian and this is used in Tunisian households . Every Sunday we had to go through this as kids it was a torture...For Tunisians people who only use soap to wash w/o exfoliating are dirty. So glad my mom raised us that way because my skin is so soft now as an adult and I still use it every sunday :).

"You scrape my back and I'll scrape yours" was the original saying that morphed into "scratch my back...". People didn't used to bath every day so when they did there was a buildup of dead skin cells and people would help each other to scrape the areas they couldn't reach, their back.

I literally just bought this because of this video. 100/10. My skin is super soft, and it actually helped with ingrown hairs I had on my legs!

I've always used "wash rags" as a kid, but I would love to try this version. I always found the more abrasive towels nicer to clean your body with.

Im north african and weve been using those for ages, the exfoliating effect is increased in the hammams, public baths with steam to open up the pores and make the dead skin cells come out easier

The fact that people are this grown and werent exfoliating is insane. All ethnic households understand

I always thought it was weird that Koreans called it an “Italian” towel. Could be that Romans athletes would use blades to scrape the dirt and grime off. This towel is used only once or twice a week.

I don’t think she scrubs enough in the showers or at least hard enough, there is not supposed to be THAT much dead skin.
