A7C is a full frame A6600. Controls, handling, EVF, LCD, improved Tracking and size is what makes it different from the A7III.

A7C for me. I'm more inclined to take the camera if it's smaller. A nice pancakes lens on the A7C is a great take it every day camera.

I ended up going with the A7iii cos I found a solid Open Box model at Best Buy for about $1200, which I would have been insane to pass up. As much as I wanted the unlimited recording time on the A7C, I literally could not pass up that price.

Purchasing the Tamron 28-75 was a game changer for me. I LOVE that lens. I ended up buying the sister lens as well 17-28/f2.8 and now I’m pretty much set for any video I want to make on my channel. Thanks for this review! I own the A7III and the a6500 as my CAM B and I’m thinking about getting the A7C to use as my main camera and have my A7III be my cam B now. That flip screen, and endless recording is what’s up. Plus, the price is easier on my wallet vs the A7sIV? SIII? I get the names mixed up but the new one that just came out with the flip screen as well.

The slightly tweaked color science is also a good addition.

Thanks for the comparison! I went with the A7iii because I'll be shooting more photography (75% photography/ 25% video). I personally like the bigger body not only for the extra controls & joystick but for the feel. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

There are lots of people out there that are still using the A6000 and are waiting to upgrade to full frame. I think the form factor and similar features from the A7III will push them to get the A7C. However I think the price should be more around 1499, -

The biggest thing to consider, is even though they are in a lot of ways the same camera... the A7iii is a true 50/50 Photo/Video hybrid camera, equally great for both. The A7C is 40/60 Photo/Video, it is definitely more video ready than it is photo ready.

this was honestly so helpful i first wanted the a7iii. i just love the quality of it but the screen was my problem bc i wanted to use it for video and photography so thank you for helping me find my new camera:) im sold on the a7c

They're so close in performance that it really just comes down to form factor. Personally, I picked up A7c and couldn't be happier. It's so small that I just hang it by my keys and grab it any time I head out into the city. Back to shooting daily 🙌

Best comparison of the cameras I've seen on youtube. I was considering the A7C since I got a great deal on the Tamron 28-75mm but I think it'll just stay with my A6500 until A7iv.

the flip screen is a big thing these days especially for a all rounder camera

I’m not truly sold on the a7C, it’s basically the same price as the a7III but without the controls. I prefer the two dials, the extra programable buttons, the dual cards, the EVF in the middle, the screen works good enough. The a7C isn’t quite there. I have the a6600 which I use on a gimbal most of the time. And I wanted an APSC for the extra reach when out at the track, and it’s a great small camera to vacation with. (10-18, Sigma 16mm f1.4, and the Sony 35mm f1.8 are all pretty small and produce great street photos and video).
Personally, I’m waiting for the a7IV hoping it will naturally pair with the a7SIII which I have coming soon.
But in reality, they are all great cameras!!

I've just sold an a7iii and picked up an A7C. I much prefer the evf on the very left edge of the body and mainly because the a7iii screen is a pain in the backside esp when shooting astro in portrait orientation at night. Which I do a lot of if not shoot all my landscape astro in portrait.

I bought a7c too! It's a very good camera. I use it every day. The video was very interesting. Thank you! With love from Japan :)

The only advantage for the a7c is how small it is. You can bring it anywhere without having a bigger separate bag bringing with you. A7iii on the other hand is easy to use with the manual and a comfortable viewfinder. Both of this have par photo quality so you can't be disappointed with both.

annoying they didnt put flip screen for a73

Smaller and lighter - win!
Flippy screen and no giant viewfinder on top (making it a pain to take in and out of the camera bag) - win!
Put a higher res sensor in there and make some light weight lenses to go with it and it's a guaranteed sale!
