Dohle Joni

Kurz zu Gast: Eine ausgebüxte, freche und zahme Dohle.
Joni war im Juni 2016 einige Wochen bei mir, dann übernahm ihn ein Nachbar mit einer (offenen) Volliere. Im November 2016 ist Joni mit einer Gruppe von Dohlen weitergezogen - und war nie mehr gesehen. Sniff.
ENGLISH: This cheeky and tame jackdaw was my guest for a short time in June 2016, then a neighbour took him over to his (open) Volliere. In November 2016 Joni moved on with a group of jackdaws - and was never seen again. Sniff.

I had the honor of watching bald eagles build their nest and raise their babies on a remote cam that made them feel right beside you. The parent eagles were so dedicated to their young, and to feel close to them was so amazing. Wild animals have something that we lack, the freedom to be completely in the moment, and completely free. I would rather watch those eagles than hang out with my fellow humans. Because what I get is a feeling of timelessness and grace, and the incredible beauty of life.

Dohlen sind extrem klug! Also wirklich. Wenn man sich die Zeit nimmt die eine Weile zu beobachten merkt man das ganz schnell. Übrigens beobachten diese Vögel uns umgekehrt auch. Es ist deshalb gar nicht so schwer mit ihnen in Interaktion zu treten. ☺️☺️🖤

I have been blessed with a little jackdaw myself. Very entertaining little creatures. So much personality. Well done looking after this guy.

Beautiful. I like your neighborhood too. In the 80s I found a young jackdaw in the field behind my parents house. It was tame too and very hungry. I fed him/her and when I went to the field with him the next day a group of adult Jackdaws came and he/she flew away with them. They sat on the roof of a neighbors house for a while, as if to say thank you and then flew away. Tschüss!
