For my contribution to Gladys Taber Week, I am sharing my little collection of Gladys Taber books which I hope will grow over time. Her books can be challenging to track down as only one is currently in print (and only available as an ebook). Try your local library and secondhand bookstores as well as ebay and other online secondhand booksellers.

I upload new videos on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and occasionally on Sundays.

Hooray for Gladys Taber! She is one of my favorites and I'm so happy to see her getting more attention. 🧡

What a delight this series has been of Gladys! I have to tell you this story! Last week after you mentioned her, I went to Half Price Books. I entered the vintage collection editions and found SPRING HARVEST by Gladys! I couldn't believe it! This store never has anything I want and to see this here after you mentioned her, was simply amazing!! Thank you. This made my week! Laurie

I’m hoping that all the BookTube attention to Gladys Taber will inspire a publisher to reissue some of her books.

Thank you for sharing your Gladys Taber books. I really enjoy using the cookbook, making her strawberry shortcake for my video was so fun and very nostalgic. I really enjoy the blueberry buckle as well. I don't think I will ever be making aspic, but I do plan to do a few of her main dishes as well. Looking forward to the live on Saturday! Happy Reading.

My mother loved Gladys Taber. She would always look for them in used bookstores when we were on vacation. I’ve never read them. I have cried watching several of these Taber videos, remembering how my mother enjoyed Gladys’s books. You all have motivated me to get going, so thanks to each of you.

Isn’t it fun to find things in books? I also love when handwritten notes are added to recipes in cookbooks. I was able to find my first Gladys Taber on Thrift Books. I’m sure to enjoy her books as I am from Connecticut originally and Cape Cod was always a favorite vacation spot. I agree that some older books are quite expensive, I’ve been wanting to buy more by Dorothy Whipple but they are sadly out of my price range.

OMG! I have just recently started watching your book videos and have tremendously enjoyed them! I have been going through and watching your older videos and today came across this one! Today I was going through my bookshelves and organizing by subject and pulled out my Gladys Taber books to research her more! I was astonished to find your video about her books and to learn that there was a Gladys Taber month! I assumed I was one of a few people who collected her as her last book was published in 1980. I am so excited to watch the other ladies who you mention. Thanks so much for another wonderful video.

Interesting to see that readers of your age have discovered Gladys Taber. I first read her books in the 70’s as they were recommended by my wonderful mother-in-law who also went to Wellesley but a bit later. With no internet, I have collected a dozen of her books over many years of scouting used book stores. Gladys also wrote articles for the magazine Family Circle called Butternut Wisdom in the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s. Thank you for keeping her flame alive. It was a decidedly serendipitous moment when I saw her name in the YouTube description of your vlog.

Love her books. I have a collection of her books, The Book of Stillmeadow, The Stillmeadow Road, My Own Cape Cod, and Harvest of Yesterday. She and Tasha Tudor are my very favorite authors; I would love to have tea and listen to them speak.

Oooo a new author to me. Reserved a couple from my library via interlibrary loan: The Family on Maple Street (read it already and loved it; original edition from 1946; amazing the library has these and still lends them out but, I imagine they don’t get checked out often❤) and a 1976 collection, The Best of Stillmeadow: A Treasury of Country Living. It even has the original library checkout stamps from the 70’s. Will read that one next.
Thanks for the recommendations. Happy reading and congrats on the excellent Etsy find! Isn’t it so fun and exciting to find special books. 🤓

I was first introduced to Gladys Taber over thirty years ago at my public library. Since then, I’ve collected twelve of her books and thankfully, I did that before booktubing, so I was able to find them while they were plentiful and inexpensive!

Jen, I have never heard of Gladys Tabor. As usual your recommendations are interesting and so unlike books I normally read. I will try to find some. Thank you for the enlightenment!❤️

Thank you for sharing your Gladys Taber books. I enjoyed hearing about her books from the different booktubers. I found two of her books reasonably priced online but I'm still waiting for them to be delivered.
