The Avionics update yesterday for MSFS 2020 was welcomed by many Airbus pilots, however, sadly it has had some dire consequences. Many users are reporting they can no longer start MSFS 2020 without the sim crashing on launch. It seems that an issues with the update is causing users of Navigraph's data to CTD! Thankfully, there is a quick fix!

Omg...I thought it was just me and my crappy computer. I spent 4 hrs updating all the apps I dont want, upadating all my contacts on old dating sites, reorganising my Will ...to leave all mods to my son and writing a farewell note to microsoft. Then I found your reassuring video. Thankyou. ❤

Huge shoutout to Gavin and the community for solving this issue. Very strange that Asobo did not catch this problem in beta testing. After all the bush trips are their own products and Navigraph is probably the most common add on. I

Right as I was trying to decipher those crashes I see the notification for your video! Godsend, thanks a lot!

Thanks very much for posting this Gavin. I also experienced this issue, but luckily, being a member of the MSFS Facebook group, someone posted the temp AIRAC fix for this within a couple of hours or so. Similar to you, I simply deleted the latest AIRAC in the HUB, but kept it on the Fenix and it seemed fine. Fingers crossed for tomorrow :)

pretty mind-boggling how something as remote at unloading Bushtrip Scotland could be thought up so fast as a solution, but it was spot on. I wish all my sim issues were that easy to isolate. Anywho, it worked and bless the person who figured it out. Now we have a fix, but I don't do bushtrips, so I'll not bother to reinstall it.

Navigraph have literally just posted on their discussion boards, removing bushtrips Scotland fixes issue and you don't need to uninstall airac

I saw your video Gavin, and updated MSFS right away, but OMG: MSFS just wouldn't load in anything other than "Safe Mode." I've just uninstalled the latest Navigraph cycle for the sim, and guess what - It's loaded fine. I suppose this means we can still fly PMDG and Fenix no problems but FlyByWire, Horizon and Asobo aircraft are off the table until this issue is resolved as they all seem to use the MSFS cycle which will out of sync with Navigraph and therefore Simbrief. BTW: awesomer videos like this one of yours just supports this community so well - thanks for posting.

Thanks for this, have been tearing my hair out. Emptied community folder resintalled 5 elements at a time and it pointed towards Navigraph - Pretty poor that's it's not patched sooner.

That last shot in the video of the Delta? jet flying over the Almond Valley Railway viaduct took my breath away

As primarily a GA flyer, thankfully, this doesn't affect me since I fly mostly VFR and don't use Navigraph tools, thanks for this update though and for sharing the workaround for those who do.

Removing "Bush Trip - Scotland" within Content Manager will then allow you to exit the sim, reinstall Navigraph AIRAC and successfully start the sim again!

Also if you have updated the latest Nvidia DLL files, the latest AIRAC update seems to have defaulted these back to original. Using something like DLSS swapper can reinstate them.

As has been said - First, remove the NAVIGRAPH entries from your Community Folder (just move them out and keep them somewhere else on the computer). For me there were five entries - avionics-g3x; avionics g1000; avionics g3000-g5000; navdata; navdata-database; Then run the Simulator, which should run without any problems. Next, from the menu, go into CONTENT MANAGER as has been suggested below and delete BUSH TRIP - SCOTLAND. Exit the Sim and copy the previously moved NAVIGRAPH folders back into your Community folder. And all should be well.

I don't fly any Bush trips so this was not an issue for me deleting this bush trip. And it all worked for me. Re-running the Sim worked fine with no issue and I got to keep my current AIRAC. Hope this is clear and helpful. Lee UK

Latest Workaround is to delete the Scotland Bush Trip via Content Manager and you can use Navigraph again as used to.

Thanks for the video. I had a feeling it was an add on.

I'm going to wait for a fix. It's 8.38pm in Perth, Australia, 12.38pm GMT, so getting a bit late, and I've just had another CTD whilst testing to see if things are resolved.
FYI, I spent about 20 minutes trying to determine where the problem was, and Sod's Law I today updated my AMD drivers, and after finding nothing, I then checked the Microsoft MSFS forum and bingo, problem confirmed as being in the MSFS environment.

I use Navigraph and haven’t (yet) had this issue, but good to note if I see it before tomorrow so thank you!
I did, however, jump into the Ini A20n to try out the improvements and was met with the IRS’s not aligning - well they were, but the MCDU kept displaying a message saying the data wasn’t accurate (or something like that). I still pressed on with the flight, except after loading the flight plan and entering the dep/arr data, there was no TC or TD… so tried the dep/arr data again and after 3 tries managed to get a TC but still not TD. Safe to say I’m giving up on this aircraft once and for all and will stick with the FBW if I feel the need to fly a neo. My go-to’s are usually the Fenix and PMDG aircraft anyway, so it’s no loss at all - just disappointing that Ini have once again lived up to their reputation of a lack of attention to detail in their aircraft.

Thanks, but I kept all my Navigraph addons for specific planes like PMDG and Fenix. I ONLY removed the base AIRAC Cycle 2409 rev.1.
