Completed my RV-7 in Nov-22 and now have close to 70 hours on it. I love the plane and it was definitely the right plane for me. Got my tail wheel endorsement then transition training, but the learning curve was still steep for me, coming from 500 hours in Cherokees. Still struggling to get consistent smooth landings, but again I’m happy with the tail dragger. Very fast and sporty! I just renewed my insurance and it dropped from $3200 to $1600. Should drop more next year when I renew, at least that’s what I’m hoping for.

Would love a Van’s ‘fleet review’ both historical and current. I know there’s been bits and bobs throughout your videos but an all up summary would be great. Vans has great planes but their names aren’t exactly descriptive haha

Day 1 of asking for a video on the Sling High Wing. That plane is such a beauty.

I once flew in an RV-14, I can't wait to see on for that! Unless you already did and I'm gonna get blown up for it.

Edit: He did! No need to blow me up, found it.

I’ve always dreamed to build an rv12. Knowing I can go faster by commercial, I just want to say I built it myself and have fun around the patch at an affordable fuel burn. All the vans look and sound awesome.

The problem I have with Vans is the same problem I have with all experimentals: used ones seem to rarely have transponders or GPS. I know GPS isn't needed, but even a simple one would be handy. I would be flying out of a Charlie so I have to have a transponder. There are some out there but they're all WAY more expensive. People seem to focus on different things than I do when building/fixing up planes

Ok near the end of the video you mentioned one reason people are not buying is lack of golf clubs fitting.

How come nobody else on the internet seems to be talking about this specific question amongst the single engine market. I have searched all over and cannot find one article or video discussing which planes work best for a few buddies and some clubs.

Anyone out there fly with there golf clubs and some friends in their planes??? Let me know!

I think you're out to lunch on the insurance costs. I just was quoted $3500 for an RV4, yes it's a taildragger and tricycle insurance may be cheaper, but not that cheap.
