Meredith Tells DeLuca She Loves Him - Grey's Anatomy

DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) threatens to quit rather than be suspended for trying to stop what he thinks is a case of human trafficking. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) asks Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) if she can talk some sense into him and Meredith tells DeLuca that she loves him. Watch 'Grey's Anatomy' THURSDAY 9|8c on ABC.

I think it’s gonna end with Meredith telling her life story to random people in a group home and no one believes her bc she has Alzheimer’s and it’s such a crazy story but it really was her life.

People need stop trying to compare them to Meredith and Derek and saying she doesn’t love him as much or it’s not as good. Because it is completely different. Meredith and Derek were epic and Derek was the love of her life. No one is debating that or saying that wasn’t true because it was. But Derek is gone. he is dead. And Meredith still has a lot of life left to live can’t spend the rest of it alone never finding love again never moving on. That’s no way to live. Meredith will always have love for Derek but she also needs to move on and live her life. It was a huge deal for Meredith to tell DeLuca she loves him as no one made her feel that way since Derek. It may not be the same or as much but it’s still important and DeLuca is important to Meredith and a part of her life. No one will meet your standards. No one will be good enough for Meredith for you after Derek. so Comparing them isn’t a good thing to do. The relationships are different and Meredith is allowed to move on whether that’s with DeLuca or someone else so you need to accept that and let her. You need to accept that Dereks dead and Meredith has moved on.

Sometimes I hate the audience...they are way more invested in shipping that they go on their own hate train. Anyways, he’s portraying Deluca with bipolar disorder so well. He isn’t “annoying” or “crazy”...you have no idea how accurate it is because this is exactly how people suffer from it in reality. Just cause someone is suffering from MI doesn’t mean they don’t deserve love. They don’t need pity they need support. I can imagine how many people must be relating to Deluca.

How about Derek faked his death & accepted that job from the president of the united states & was around the world but makes a return.
Or Dr. Bailey retires early to be with her family & Meredith becomes chief of surgery & gets alzheimers like her mom.
Christina comes to visit Meredith & Meridith thinks their still interns & talks about Derek, Dr Burke, george & izzy & Christina being a fantastic dr realizes what happening & plays along & eventually dance it out & officially ending greys anatomy.
These episodes are starting to seem like their just throwing anything out there to keep getting money, they've told their stories. We deserve an amazing ending. Deluca isnt good enough for mer seems like she just thinks of him as a young Derek
Maybe deluca could go to Switzerland for a new start

I have manic depression myself, and this episode really struck a vein in me. Years ago, when I was in high school, I had a psychologist for 6 years, insomnia, clinical depression, suicidal thougets, unrealistic guilts over things beyond my control and once in awhile, episodes very similar to what Deluca had here. I also heard screaming and loud banging noises when I stayed at home for an entire month when I was 16 after a psychotic episode, and was told it was part of my hallucinations caused by insomnia. But it turned out a few months later, the neighbors had domestic violence, the abusive husband left the house. I was right.

Mental illness does not mean a person cannot be trusted, or should be dismissed instantly and completely. Many mentally ill people (myself included) are more sensitive and observant to the pain of others because we can RECOGNIZE it like our own. Yes, in my lowest lows, and darkest days, I was unstable and irrational- but even inside this state of mind, people around me still treated me like me, not like a crazy person, a stranger, or somebody they couldn't trust. They helped me.

Family and friends supported me, my psychologist and psychiatrist kept checking up on me, I came out the closet, went out to the world, started working, studied an academic degree, had relationships and right now in one 4 years now- and I am a completely unrecognizable young man now: happy, social, outgoing, smiling, yet completely upfront and unashamed of my past and my mental illness, because everything I have been through is natural, human and not something to be ashamed of.

I really hope they dig deeper in Deluca's storyline and not just kill him or put him in the psychiatric department. I really hope Mer and Carina can manage to help him, and get him up on his feet. This is a process that takes years, so I really hope they don't rush this either. Mer telling him she loves him is a step in the right direction.

IDK, I still kind of ship them because I don't think I've ever seen Mer look at anyone the way she does Deluca other than Derek of course. I know people want to see her with McWidow but I just don't see that happening. He seems like he would end up just being someone she can talk to about losing Derek even though its been years since his death.

you all can have your opinions but meredith and deluca really are in love. he makes her happier than anyone besides derek ever has. until recently, (because of these sad events) you could see how in love they are. it isn't just a platonic love or meredith wouldn't be wasting her time. she wouldn't have ever said i love you in the first place if it wasn't genuine. endgame or not, they have true love for eachother in more ways than one.
