China's ability to dictate anything to the Kremlin is very limited. China's desire in all of this is stability. As such they don't want to see regime change or any instability in their northern border. But I'm pretty damn certain they weren't happy with what happened a year ago.. this is because in addition to the above, they really didn't want the West to be on the ball when and if China decided to do its move on Taiwan. China is happy with the status quo. Whatever happens going forward, China will find a way to benefit with cheaper oil and gas if the war drags on, and a handy model for invading Taiwan if Russia somehow wins, or if Ukraine wins, China can pick up the Belt and Road projects in the Black Sea where they left off. Plus, whatever happens, Russia makes China look good. That's worth a lot.

Agence France-Presse quoted him as saying: “Any negotiation needs to be based on taking into account Russian interests, Russian concerns. It should be about the principles on which the new world order will be based.” and we all know how the principles of the Third Reich looked and how it ended, in the meanwhile it could be good news at last for the UN permanent Security council if the wanted war criminal leaves to start up this new order thing, maybe China will leave also . plus the other usual suspects
