He also unofficially voiced Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Pinball Machine by Gottlieb

Maybe Nintendo just wants to forget that the edutainment Mario games exist.

Because Mario 64 was a mainline game and i imagine Miyamoto must have directed his voice to match Mario's movements in the game.

Miyamoto also says that he Charles almost hit his head on the door way at a restaurant so clearly they do know each other 😂

I think the key word is “Super Mario” game. Trust me, I had the same thought bc I had those games on a floppy disk on my Windows 95 BAAACK in the day lol

This guy sounds coo coo crazy. Do you know Miyamoto. He wasn’t involved in all those crappy educational meme games for pc. He met Charles from 64. That’s what he probably meant.

Mario Teaches Typing's Martinet voice over was a reissue of the game re-released in 1998 since he began in 1995 on Mario's Fundamentals by (formerly) Interplay and Presage (also a 1998 reissue re-name by Brainstorm) (formerly called Mario's Game Gallery)

Miyamoto-san probably doesn't even know those games exist because back in the 90's Nintendo of America was handing out the Mario license to anyone and everyone without Nintendo of Japan's supervision and they were only ever available outside of japan

It’s really not that complicated. They’re not saying that Super Mario 64 was the first time Charles voiced Mario in any Mario-related media. They’re specifically referring to the mainline “Super Mario” franchise that Nintendo themselves develop in-house.

This excludes all spinoffs that Charles was involved with, because those are not considered “Super Mario” games. Those are Mario-related games farmed out to other developers.

In the mainline Super Mario franchise, Mario did not have a voice until Super Mario 64. Even though Charles did voice Mario prior, Super Mario 64 made Charles’s voice official.

What if Super Mario 64 voice lines were recorded long before the game came out? Even before Mario teaches typing came out? It’s still possible, no?

"Super Mario" refers to the main series of platformers, for anyone who's confused

Miyamoto: ”Those games don’t exist; they never happened”

In fact, Super Mario 64 began in development in 1993 while Charles Martinet is voicing Mario in Mario Teaches Typing 2 in 1994.

Mario teacher typing and Mario's game gallery are not "Super Mario games"

I'm pretty sure Nintendo wasn't even affiliated with either of those games,
