How to Install a Power Supply into a Desktop PC

This is a full-on fleshed-out how-to video on installing a PSU in a PC. It's not gonna be a short one, just warning you off-the-bat, but basically it's all the ins and outs of a power supply, what you need to know, what every cable is meant for and what goes where. It's actually very simple if you're new to it.

Please do not ask me what kind of PSU your PC should have, look up the specs of the parts you're getting and go from there; there's simply too much information to know beforehand and I cannot respond to every single comment with vital information. Thank you.

ATTENTION!! First time builders of PCs: THIS GUIDE is for you; a visual step by step, pin to connector, Molex to Modular, how to connect, run, & hookup all the various cables, pins, etc, we need. He goes the extra mile in filming each connection while filming each cable end piece to which parts connection regardless if it's a newer Sata, older Molex, male or female connector including piggy backing into those multiple Molex female or male ends. I've gotten quite a few comments of viewers telling me that having too many watts on your PSU in your system will prevent it from running optimally as opposed to using a lower-end PSU. I believe that is true.

When you screw the PSU into the computer, its always best to screw in a "star" or "crisscross" pattern, rather than both screws on left side and both on right side. Helps distribute the tightness more evenly....like tightening lug nuts on a tire.

this video is going to be extremely useful im about to change my power supply tomorrow because im upgrading the graphics card in my current PC and ive never done this before but a friend of mine told me to check my power supplies max Watts he said it needed atleast 400 watts so im upgrading to a 600 watt from a 350 watt PSU. wish me luck.

The psu i just bought is a 500 watt but the motherboard connector is 20 pin. I hope this isnt problematic. Im waiting to install it until I have my GPU shipped from the interwebz(3 days)
