Ape- You’re the last guy I’d send my stuff to for a review if I didn’t think my stuff was good. You would tell us if it was crap. And you have in the past. You are straight-up!

And this video FINALLY explains WTF a ferrule is and why I just ordered this kit.
Thanks sir!

I love ferrules. Crimpers like those make a nice tidy job and they do come with loads in the packs, so they last a fair while.

Thanks for the review Ape. And the price is great. I use ferrule crimpers and wire strippers in my job frequently and these look almost as good as the professional Panduit crimpers that we use, and for around $340 less.

I have been in the electronics business for a long time. When I got started, crimpers and wire prep tools were CRAZY money. Each of my task specific crimpers was about $400 - $800 - targeted at mass production and absolutely uncompromised performance.

In my radio hobby world, those numbers are not practical so I was forced to fake it (poorly). These tools give the hobbyist access to pro techniques at a practical price. The expensive tools are demonstrably better, but 10x-20x the cost.

Thanks for the vid Ape.

I have a few of the Kaiweets tools like that for my summer cabin. they all have worked as well as the ones at home that I paid 2-3x the price for. I need that ferrule crimper. Thanks for the video Ape

The ferrules are pronounced "fear-ool"
As an electrician here in New Zealand, they are pretty much standard for working with stranded flexible wires, they save stray wires causing short circuits within equipment.
Also, that yellow tool in with the ferruling tool, is a cheap type of "punch-down" tool that is meant for telephone wiring where the wires connect to IDC connectors in behind a RJ-45 connector.

Great video Ape, love it. I am in the market for some crimpers. Thank you for sharing.

I have a version of the wire strippers. They are great except for very small wires in a confined space. I like the Ferrels as well. Crimp pins on aerospace d shell connectors use the same crimp type. You do have to be careful you don't crush them too much. As always good video. 73

Pronounced like the Hollywood actor Will Ferrell. The joint on a two piece fishing rod is a ferrule, been pronouncing it like Will since I was a kid. I'd love an affordable crimper that would do Power Poles.

Hi Ape,
I had bought the Kaiweets stripper, but for the ferrule crimper bought one with a hexagonal crimp. I think a six sided crimp looks better than a four sided crimp. 🙂 Stay safe. 73 WJ3U

What about crimping the various coax connectors? Is this crimper tool suitable? Thanks

These look like typical Chinese automotive-grade crap. Fine for basic electrical connections, but not for RF connections like counterpoise wires or baluns, etc.
