That's very nice of you to go out and support the local markets❤

5:50 The little baskets are for steamed salted short mackerel (Pla Too in Thai). It's a traditionally a staple food in Thailand, fried and served with Namprik Kapi (shrimp paste chilli dip), jasmine rice and boiled vegetable. It smells a bit funky to me personally but if you like fish, please try it😁

10:37 Custard Apple or Sugar Apple (Noi Naa in Thai) It's a sweet, creamy and yummy seasonal fruit. If you like mangosteen, you will enjoy it. Just break it with your hands and enjoy the white meat, but be careful of the seeds. Don't eat the green outer shell.

Also, it's Gin Jay (vegetarian) Festival now, from Oct 2-11. Hope you guys have time to check out China Town coz it's a major event🍀

Thai people shop at this kind of wet market for daily cooking. Especially for fresh vegetables and fruits, it's so much cheaper than in supermarkets.
Ps. Try to ask for fish sauce with chillies (Nam-Pla pik) it will definitely improve the taste of everything.

7:32 it's called nam-ya-nang it squeezing from Bamboo grass(Tiliacora triandra), mostly used with ESAN food (northeast),
like merchant said in video that namyanang used with bambo shoot to make soup with it (and it can change ingredients from bambo shoot to other ingredients like wild mushrooms or smth that ppl can find)

Huai Khwang, This is the market near my home since childhood. As a child, I walked past this market on my way to school every day.
I miss that area.

10:41 its called sweetsop where i’m from (Jamaica), you should give it a try next time you see it. You just open it and eat the white insides 😊 you discard the black seeds and the skin!

The chicken feet soup thing is actually Bitter Melon Chicken Noodle, a popular type of chicken noodle soup. The taste is slightly sweet, soy sauce-y, and cinnamon-y—warm and comforting, yet somehow intense and flavorful because of all the spices and herbs. And don’t worry, the soup isn’t bitter at all! (But the bitter melon still is 😂) You can order it without the chicken feet. Definitely worth trying! There’s also a duck noodle soup that tastes pretty much the same and is equally delicious 🤤.

Thanks for sharing your food adventures! Food looks good and so inexpensive! 10:40 sugar apple, very sweet, kinda like a soft pear with lots of seeds. But easy to eat because the seeds are very smooth and pebble like.

You should have added the chilli fish sauce to the chicken fried rice.... that fruit you guys wanted to try is a Custard apple/sugar apple (NOI NAR). Just break it with your hands and eat the fruit inside, spit the seed out tho. Hard ones are unripe so get the softer ones.

I know there are some comments about custard apple but since I also used to live in CA, the same as you. In Asian market you may saw this fruits it calls "Cherimoya". The appearance may a bit different only its skin but texture the same, FYI.

Love watching your video❤

we usually eat cashew nuts with salt, so we just put salt into the bag then shake before we eat :D

and I think if the pork isn't cooked all the way, you can ask them for the new one. when i encountered a situation like this I got a new one every time (but some vendor might not, i guess, idk)
