i love how from 15:14 to 15:29 you can hear what their more 'natural' relaxed voices sound like normally, and the moment something interesting happens that kier knows he wants to include in the actual video, he pitches his voice up and changes it to his hyped on-screen voice which dev immediately follows suit

That trap in the end was smart, but only one use. Sculk sensors will detect if he moves or breaks blocks, and a triple piston extender would reach him and retract after. You could go with a quad piston extender to be safe as well. With dev dealt with, you could walk instead of sprint, drastically saving your hunger bars

Ancient debris should totally be part of the redstone crate. Its strength and the time it takes to break would be very useful in redstone traps, considering pistons can move it. (the same works for blocks of netherite)


I know this is the finale, but you could totally make a redstone trap in one of those underground, narrow stone corridors using it. Using a stone pressure plate to blend in with the block, it could have pistons nearby that push ancient debris up from the ground to block in the hunter from both sides of the corridor. You could use stone pressure plates to cover this up, but if you really want to go the extra mile for deception, you could build a stone texture onto a map and put them on item frames to cover it up.

Then the stone pressure plate could activate a large ring of TNT wrapping around the entire corridor behind the walls, starting with TNT directly below the stone that the stone pressure plate is on.

The hunter can't move forward or backward before the TNT explodes because of the ancient debris, and mining up, left, right, or down will essentially be walking straight into the TNT. It would take a pretty fast mining tool probably with efficiency to escape that, which the hunter more than likely doesn't have.

The explosion (probably) results in death.

Or you could, you know, make a much more simpler trap with ancient debris and just have some pistons push it around and trap the hunter in a sort of orb of it.

Assuming that the hunter has the typical iron pickaxe, it would take 25 seconds to mine a block of ancient debris... 25 seconds if mining straight up or down out of it, and 50 if mining horizontally in any way. A massive delay for the hunter.

On another note, after checking just now, Blocks of Netherite actually have the same breaking time as Obsidian. So using a piston trap to surround them in Blocks of Netherite is essentially an obsidian trap.

Blocks of Netherite also don't drop when mining them without at least a diamond pickaxe; considering that the hunter usually has a typical iron pickaxe, they won't really be able to obtain Netherite either from mining out, so no worries there.

Anyways, I'm thinking too hard about this. It's literally the finale. There probably won't be any more redstone master twists.

Also, turn up your entity distance in settings so that hunters render faster
