Last year's got such a great host with the big charisma, viewers' voting, a bigger stage with better cameras (shooting/filming), better date of airing and a winner who was accepted by everyone... In general, its organization was one of the best in JESC's history, although this year has better artists and songs (oh, postcards and design as well) for me.

Getting rid of the televote was the most stupid idea ever, whose idea was that? This is 2016, not 1987, how on earth did they think it would work without it?! And some countries from the west and north must join!

You are absolutely right in every single point

Host city + Date: Same city as the adult version with the Junior edition on friday (1 day before the final). Maybe the EBU can give sort of a discount to countries who participate in both. This can be a little motivating for the less rich broadcasters.

Voting: Like you said, an app. But a FREE app. Not all children are able (or allowed) to spend money on voting. So maybe you can give every child in the participating countries (and maybe even the not-participating?) the opportunity to make their top 3 in the app (only once). The voting part of the show must be 'oldschool'. So a child from that specific country who reads out the 8, 10 and 12 points (not just the 12). And about the not-participating countries: Maybe all those votes can be put together and read out as 'other European countries', or something like that.

Hosts on stage: I agree with you. Former participants from (J)ESC would be nice. But if it's from ESC they have to look younger. A 21yo wouldn't be that bad, right?!

Participants: I would like to see children aged 8-16 on stage. Nothing new so far but I would give them the opportunity to bring more people on stage. Around 8 maybe? Just like the first few editions of JESC. More countries would also be nice. I remember a show in Amsterdam (with a beautiful stage) with only 12 participating countries..?!

These are just some ideas I got when I watched the video :)

I agree every word you say! Like, ok! This year was one of the best years when it comes to the songs! But all the other things were terrible! They removed the voting and the whole thing on stage was just confusing and the hosts were very boring. AND the stage was super small, compared to all the other years😭

Apart from the changes for the international final, each country needs to nationally promote Junior Eurovision. I think a lot of people in the Netherlands didn't know that Junior Eurovision was broadcasted, because they cancelled the national selection on tv and instead post everything online. I know that that might be the future, but they need to give it more attention. I would be really sad if The Netherlands decide not to compete next year or if the Junior Eurovision would be cancelled in a few years.

You guys are amazing. Lets save JESC. Here are some of my ideas.

- Expert panel with 2 kid artists together with the Eurovision winner from last year. All 3 perform.
- Kids jury partly artists and partly target audience (normal kids)
- Bring back Kath & Vlad (obvious)
- Keep the flags, but find a different solution.
- How about the audience in the arena being a voting panel? (Or is this a long shot? :P)
- Boost the website with a sing-a-long Karaoke machine.

I also have a idea to work out for next year. It's too long to type in here and I rather keep this a surprise for the open audience. If you are okay with it, I'd like to pitch my idea at some (J)ESC geniouses, like Wiwiblogs, if you are willing to listen. :P

The problem for the Netherlands is that there is to much 'block-voting'. Eastern european countries vote more on each other and don't like the western european countries like the Netherlands and a few years ago also Belgium. And because we never end high in the contest more and more people stop watching the junior Eurovision song contest in the Netherlands.

Send this video to the EBU so maybe can change something .. I think the new executive supervisor is not good at all

When JESC started there was a contest in my country, kids wrote their own songs and the best was send to JESC. And this year the songs was pre produced by adults and sang by kids. My main issue with Junior Eurovision is that the kids aren't kids anymore. The songs, the styling. They are presented as mini-adults while they just should be kids.

Let's not forget how the host messed up and gave the last 110 point before she was supposed to and tried to cover it up... That was a breaking point for me. They weren't funny at all, they tried to be funny with failed attempts and in the end they didn't even know how to give the points. Seems to me like they didn't even prepare for it and went to it without any rehearsals. That lady kept reading through the cards without remembering anything at all so she could look at the camera. Of course personal opinion and it made me feel really bad and unpleased when I watched it. Cringe

I agree totally with you, why people would watch this contest, if they can't vote for their favourite song. That's the biggest reason why ratings went so badly and thank you for saying that hosts were awful, I'm not the only one who thinks like that :)

To be honest - I am happy that there's adult jury. I might disapprove what adults told me is worth listening when i was a kid but when I grew up I actually started to value it much more and I am thankful for that.

Ther is some logic behind not televoting because a lot of countries only vote for their neigbourghs so countries like the netherlands which do not have many participating countries around them would be negatively affected by that

We need host that will not tell us winner 10 minutes earlier and then say it is so open xD

Wait, you didn't mention the change in time slot?? A lot of people said that people in their country weren't aware that the show was on because they changed it to 4 PM on a Sunday.

My suggestion is moving the show to an Saturday evening (like 18:30 or something) and then take away the juryvoting (but keeping the kids jury), and takeback the televoting like it was before 2007. And also, every type of children should get a chance to perform, but not acting like adults most of the time (Mascara on children is not permitted on childrens shows in the Nordics and Spain)
