Jaguar XE v BMW 3-series twin test - BusinessCar

We pit our Business Car of the Year, the Jaguar XE, against its main rival, BMW's 3-series.

Thanks for that excellent review and I do agree that the XE is better looking and a great drive too!

The telling part is that the Jaguar beats BMW at its own game. Just surprised anyone could upsurp BMW in that aspect.

The XE hasn't lived up to expectations. I work for a direct supplier and sales of this car were only around 45, 000 in 2016.

The Jaguar is a nice car, cheaper than its "BMW equivalent" but: cheap hard plastics, rear doors are small and awkward (your passengers will most likely bang their heads getting in).
However I liked the navigation system (clear big screen, good voice command), the driving position, the automatic gearbox is good, and in general the driving experience was good.
But BMW offers the same driving experience but better finished material and more comfort for your passengers.

All in all they're equal in terms of value for money, it just depends where your priority is. As a "business user" I'd rather get the 3 series.
