Colleen has been a mentor of mine since 2011 when I went from 95% vegetarian all my life to vegan. I have all of her books with wonderful recipes and her podcast has comforted me and educated me as I am not among anyone who understands my healthy choices, love for animals and compassionate lifestyle. She has the most unwavering, yet eloquent voice on behalf of the animals. Such a beautiful body of work she's contributed to the world! Looking forward to listening to you BOTH tomorrow! Hope to meet you one day when I visit California. Hugs! xoxo

Colleen's perspectives are always so thoughtful, effective, and well articulated. It's a pleasure and a privilege listening to her, as usual. I've so enjoyed all of her podcasts and I eagerly encourage anyone unfamiliar with her impressive and moving body of work to check it out!

great seeing you two powerful ladies working together.  thanks Eco-Vegan Gal and tackling some of these important questions. love how you explain things...and i agree that all the different approaches to advocating for the animals can olny help spread the message as every different way will speak to different people.  the more varied our voices, the wider our influence.

Haven't watched this yet but I LOVE Whitney and I LOVE Colleen so this should be pretty amazing. So excited to watch it all the way through. These two women have taught me a lot in the ways of veganism and being more eco friendly. It's a dream come true to see them together.

I love your Q&As and in my opinion, this one was one the best you have done so far. It made me so excited you had Colleen with you this time. I am in the transitioning to vegan lifestyle myself and I have always questioned myself of why exactly vegans don't eat eggs, but now, after Colleen made it so simple and clear, it makes so much sense to me!... And I think that the point she made about being vegan meaning doing your best, not being perfect is SO important. I have encountered quite a few people beating themselves up for accidentally consuming something that was tested on animals or had an animal-derived ingredient in it and making themselves feel so miserable and worthless, and all this scared me a little. Anyway, Colleen said it in such a great way and it really sounded as a great encouragement to keep going. Thank you, Whitney, for doing what you are doing. :) Bless you, and best wishes! xx

I love Colleen, and I also love Gary Yourofsky. I have to admit, though, Gary's direct, no BS way convinced me to go vegan. I saw his "Greatest Speech Ever" before ever hearing any of Colleen's speeches, but I'd heard the "gentle" argument before and had rationalized my way out of changing my eating habits. Ie, what's wrong with humanely raised animals? Gary's talk, complete with horrifying video snippets, opened my eyes and made it impossible for me to ignore the truth. Sometimes seeing the truth, with no sugar-coating, is exactly what a person needs. The civil rights movement had peaceful and militant activists. Both were needed, and both effective in their own right.

Love love love! I've read books from both of you ladies now and hearing you discuss together these issues is too cool!! I feel like I have both of your voices rolling around in my mind surrounding my reasons for being vegan so this interview was great!

Thank you Whitney for all you do, and for just being your beautiful self! And Colleen, you are my fave speaker and now have given me the confidence to, perhaps once again, care for chickens! (BTW, I also love Gary's approach, but, face it, he's a guy, and aggressive is SO much more accepted from males, eh?) xoxo

Colleen looks a bit like Claudia Black or Vala MalDuran from Stargate SG-1. I watched one of her lectures and they are amazing.

The man Colleen spoke to would have talked about "unclean" animals. Likely he was Seventh Day Adventist. :-) A lot of Adventists are vegetarian. A good number are vegan, with more and more opting for a vegan diet.

This was a good Q &A video. I'm new to the vegan world. I been vegan for a month now. I have always been sympathetic towards animals but I guess in my mind it was like if I didn't see the harsh treatment taking place then it was easy to dismiss and have that hamburger. The primary reason why I became vegan was cause I was really concerned as to how these companies produced the food they are selling to us. I was mortified to learn how meat dairy and eggs are produced for our consumption. And not only that but the dyes and chemicals that are allowed by the US government to be used by these companies they put in these processed foods and say it's safe for us and our children to eat. I can say since eating a plant based diet I have been more conscious about the harm done to animals.

"Deep down, I truly hope that oppression, torture and murder return to each uncaring human tenfold! I hope that sons accidentally shoot their fathers on hunting excursions, while carnivores suffer heart attacks that kill them slowly. Every woman ensconced in fur should endure a rape so vicious that it scars them forever. While every man entrenched in fur should suffer an anal raping so horrific that they become disemboweled. Every rodeo cowboy and matador should be gored to death, while circus abusers are trampled by elephants and mauled by tigers. And, lastly, may irony shine its esoteric head in the form of animal researchers catching debilitating diseases and painfully withering away because research dollars that could have been used to treat them were wasted on the barbaric, unscientific practice of vivisection?"

I'm vegetarian and don´t like Gary Yourofsky's arguments. I think his use of  terms like “concentration camps”  and "Holocaust" in comparison to the meat industry are disrespectful.
I prefer Whitney's approach.
