Steve, the quality of your review, and the competences that you show us every time you post something, both written or filmed, is outstanding. Home to have the chance to meet you soon, maybe in Munich High End 2018?Tks Roberto

Glad you had a good time. Hopefully I'll find a way to justify a trip to next years show. Thanks for sharing your impressions! And yep, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on those P3 40th's as well. :D

It was good to meet you Steve. I think the Gayle Sanders speakers were some of the best I heard. They made the speakers work pretty darn well in those small rooms. I kept telling people they had to check out the Gayle Sayers speakers, yeah, been here in Chicago far to long I guess. It was my first ever show I have been to, and honestly I wanted more. I hated waking up this morning to do work instead of going to the show.

Great show this year! I happened to see you across the hotel but never caught up to say hi, how much I like your videos, lol and attempt to pick your brain about Zu Audio!

Can’t wait to hear more about your time at AXPONA

Steve, if you're ever in Germany in November, make sure to visit the AAA show in Krefeld. AAA stands for Analogue Audio Association. Loads of record players and reel to reel stuff, from homebrew to really serious high-end. It's got a really nice atmosphere, there's usually some really good (and bad ;)) stuff there and it's free. If you take your time to listen to each rig, it should nicely fill up a full day without having to be in too much of a rush.

The way I worded my impressions of Gayle Sanders new Eikon speakers (about 2 minutes in) was awkward, I liked the sound, but I'm in the undecided camp as far as room correction goes.

Was at the show on Friday. Would have been great to meet you. Maybe next year. One of the best systems I heard for the money was the PureAudioProject Trio 15 Horn1 with Whammerdyne tube amp. I never heard open baffle speakers before and I was really impressed by the LF response. They were great. Steve, did you visit that room? What do you think of OB speakers?

Sorry I didn't bump into you there, Steve. I was there on Saturday with a friend and a another guy who is now a new friend. I did run into Paul from PS Audio. I agree the Harbeths (P3ESR's) stood out, along with the Studio Electric m4, and Gershman Studio II's. But the speakers that blew me away (other than the $210, 000 Wilson's) were HSU Research's $699/pr CCB-8. Not only did they sound fantastic, Hsu had them wired with cheapo lamp cord and powered by a $300 Onkyo receiver. I can't think of a bigger F-U to the fancy cable guys. A great day. And yes, I heard some really expensive, bad sounding gear too.

Check out Tekton Design Speakers. I believe their speakers are in the Parasound room. Curious on your thoughts of the Double Impact Speakers.

Yes, speakers with room correction techniques. Be very interested in those. :)

It was a great show. I liked the hotel. My room was right next to Cambridge Audio. It's very hard to see it all in three days plus try and go to any talks they have. I do enjoy seeing the reviews and company reps that I follow online.Steve, Do you have any tips for getting in as much as possible at a show?

Steve, those monstrosities in the thumbnail were total clickbait. Couldn’t you have slipped a peek at them into this video?

It's great to get your opinion on stuff, but we can't hear what your talking about. And I realize You Tube videos won't give anyone the full sound of any of the systems being discussed, but what you can pick up with a good set of headphones on an iPad is enough to give one an idea what things sound like, so why not just a little bit now and then? As an audiophile I'm curious about what's coming to market. But I can't audition everything out there. There aren't enough audiophile shops around any more to even begin to explore our options, and finding someone who's bought this or that is impossible. So try to include a few sound bytes here and there for us! Thx!!!

Interesting that you wax on about some companies and then take a shot at Gayle Sanders new speaker. I listened to a fair amount of systems at the show and Sander's demo was better than most of what I heard. Makes me wonder what all goes into your personal rating system.
