Continuing on with my ‘Carving Canyons’ Behind The Song Series! Here’s a look into the title track itself:

Carving Canyons is such a powerful song to me and of course, the title of the album. I love its creation story, as I was talking about life with Sarah Buxton, Kate York, and Curt Schneider. Talking about family and personal struggles around a campfire with a guitar, we collectively and quickly wrote it. There is beauty in pain. It is a part of life and a part of our life story. Good & bad, what we go through creates the landscape of which to view a lifetime. If I’d never broken open, there’d be nothing to see. There are so many facets to the richness of human experience, emotion, resiliency and grace. The pandemic also really put a lot of that into perspective. #shorts
