The Problem with S2 of Madre Solo Hay Dos | Lesbian + WLW

I had a viscerally negative response to the second season of Madre Solo Hay Dos (Daughter From Another Mother) - am I the only one ? After spending the time to make this video, however, my feelings have softened towards the show...maybe because I'm almost totally certain it'll end with them together and I just didn't enjoy this leg of the journey as much. Let me know your thoughts !

Did you feel the same way I did about S2?

I agree with all of this. I believe that if the show approaches this correctly this will be the best slow burn I've seen before with wlw character leads. However, if they decide not to take that step and just put them back with their exes or new men it would fall incredibly flat. I think the fake relationship is a great trope to help them develop feelings for one another and be able to test out how it would be being together with little interference. I think this could be groundbreaking and it's so needed so we'll see how far the producers, writers, and showrunners are willing to go.

At first I thought you were against the relationship and was about to vehemently disagree with you. Lesson learnt.. listen to the whole video! You are 100% correct. To me this show has so much potential and socially highly relevant. So many lessons to be learnt from it that can be applied. The exes drove me crazy in the end and if anything, made me wholeheartedly support the relationship between Marianna and Ana. The problem is that if the creators do not follow this through, there is going to be massive disappointment. It has been built up so much by the actors whilst season 3 is being filmed, and the PR team from MSDH, that not to follow through, would be cowardly and misleading. I think the acting is brilliant and this show can be ground breaking. And this is from a straight woman with 3 children. It’s time a show shattered the ceilings of patriarchy and what is considered “normal”. I hope it tightens up and I hope it has the courage to allow these two women to be the best version of themselves. I can tell by social media around it, the controversy is building. I will literally never watch any of them if any one of them go back to their exes!! Lol!

I totally agree… S2 was frustrating to say the least, but left us hope for S3 🤞😊
Ps You explained the basic storyline so well… narration was absolutely brilliant 👏😍

¡Hey! ¡hey! There's a music vídeo that confirms the relationship between Ana y Mariana. it's "Paulina Goto - Qué pase y ya" and in some comments she confirms/hints (because is obvious) that Anriana its endgame❤
Estoy muy emocionada Ahhhh!!!

The one thing that saved season 2 for me was the plot line with Ro and Ceci and the ways that they dealt with the fallout and reality of Ana and Juan Carlos's divorce. It felt really natural and real, one kid would be trying their best to try to pick up the broken pieces and remind their parents of why they love each other and reunite them. While the other would act out trying to have an outlet for all the feelings surrounding the split. It was beautiful and pretty well done I thought.
I will say though the trailer felt pretty baiting with the focus that was placed on Ana and Mariana. It made seem as if this season might have been an enemies to lovers moment, or that they would have a real central romantic focus with each other. Especially the scene in the bathroom, what a major switch! It seemed like the ending though was a bit of a cop out and not so natural. The whole deal of the custody battle with the exes, the two women coming together in a fake relationship scenario didn't necessarily have to happen.

In season 2 we can see how hard this whole situation is for Ana. I think they did it great, especially Ludwika, who shows us everything we need to know about her. Yep, Ana is 100% lesbian. Try to understand 40 year old woman who realizes she is in love with another woman. I totally understand her and feel sorry for her. She is in so much pain. It's not easy for lgbt ppl to realize their life was a fake and just a bad acting.

i watched it a few months ago (I think?), binged-watched both seasons, season 2 got me all disappointed. If anything, I really felt they did Elena (Mariana's ex gf) really really wrong. The entire second season I was "ELENA DESERVES BETTER" 😁 because I knew where they were heading with the main plot. Overall, super disappoint (can't say I'm actually surprised by it)

Thank you for this! I 100% agree with you on your overview and comments. I loved Season One...started to get bored in Season Two. I also am wondering with you about Season Three. For us Queer ladies...time will tell.

This would be such a good wlw story if they fully went with it, but I worry they're just using the story as a bait for a larger (and queer) audience. Sure, I'd still love a story where we can have "women supporting women" but this is not the way to go about it in my opinion.

When I started watching the show I thought I would hate the male characters, but Don Carlos and Pablo soon became two my favorite characters other than the main ladies . I actually thought that the women were just friends and I think we need to see more female female and male male friendships more on screen. I love any sapphic storyline don't get me wrong .

I cant stand Mariana. I honestly think that Ana deserves better n Mariana has much growing up to do. They continue to do the men dirty it they cant figure out what tondo with them. It seems that Ana will do some exploration in season 3 and that will be definitely welcomed. Again they need to also focus on Mariana becoming a more sympathetic character. Right now she is such a winny person. Ceci n Ro were a delight.

Telling the truth about a show must be hard. Shippers want good news and really dislike distractions from wlw happy endings. Suspicion is valid and warranted. To become OG requires time and proof.

ok but can we talk about how everyone in this show seems to forget that straight and lesbian/gay aren't the only sexualitys? it's seriously erks me
it's always "are you lesbian?" "if you're a lesbian we can do this" "ana's not a lesbian, no way"
like do they not know people can be bisexual or pansexual or any other sexuality that's attracted to more than one gender???
the ONLY person I've seen mention anything other than straight or lesbian has been Pablo so far, and that was on the first episode of season 3 (I haven't finished yet) when he said "mariana is a little more FLUID, but I don't think she has feelings for ana" and that was the ONLY time
sorry for going on a rant, this just infuriates me rkshgjdndsj

Yeah, I was definitely more bored during the second season. There were just plots I didn't care for and were too back and forth. Mariana's mom for example... it comes a point were everything is too repetitive with her and I honestly didn't care fro her storyline with either Ana's husband or his brother. But I still have faith in the third season idk

So disappointed, just put a lesbian (Helena) for lgbtq+ fans and then forgot her role, well so fail

I have no interest in this show nor do I want to watch it. But please let us know if there are any more hot lesbian kiss scenes 👍😆
