Sheriff Chris Swanson is gaining attention after he removed his riot gear and walked with protesters in Flint, Michigan. He said he wanted demonstrators to know he supports them.

By definition, this is a demonstration of true strength. He is there to not only help people exercise their first amendment right but also protect them. We need more law enforcement officers like him. Something tells me there are many. Let's fix this injustice together peacefully. Please be safe out there everyone.

That is so very heart-warming to see that Michigan sheriff and other police force units unite in solidarity with the people.

That's what is needed. It shouldn't be about us and them, it should be about working and living together as a partnership.

We mustn't forget that police under their uniforms are also humans. They have friends and family too from different social and economic backgrounds. We can't allow a few bad apples to ruin it for all.

Well done Sheriff Swanson.. That took presence of mind and courage. Some have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for doing much less in my view.
