That's one of the reasons why Geena Davis is the GOAT in my opinion.. she never acted like she was "Too Good" or like any role was beneath her. She did tons of movies with science fiction and/or supernatural or fantasy qualities because she just love's to act and enjoying the scripts.. I just love her! Tim Curry being Beetlejuice is probably the only other actor other than Michael Keaton that could have made it work.

🍿 I saw this in the theaters when it came out in ‘88, it made the biggest impression on my heart 💚 as a kid! I know they are all glad they said yes to this movie because it’s one of the best!!! I watch it multiple times a year! Beetlejuice Beetlejuice stayed true to the first film and was pretty great! 👻

Okay, I have to call bullisht on Jim Carry being considered. This movie came out before ANYONE knew who Jim Carry was. He didn't even start In Living Color until 1990.

Michael Keaton has a unique style and was perfect in so many roles.. Beetlejuice, Mr. mom, Batman, just to name a few

He beat out Gary Oldman?! Wow. That's no small feat. Loved this movie. One of the first my family watched when we got to America. We laughed so hard at the scene when he kicks over the tree and honks his balls, we had to pause the movie for damn near 15 minutes to finish laughing and get our breath back. Can't remember the last time my mom, dad, and lil bro laughed that well together. Good times.

I gotta say that in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, it was quite clever how they avoided having the actor who played the father without really letting on and how they kept all the charm of the original!❤

For those who don't know the actor Jeffrey Jones who played the father is a sex offender and thats why he doesn't appear in the sequel.
