360! All my twins had that firing order and that classic sound!

To my ear, the 270 crank has the most satisfying sound.

Extremely interesting video.
Extra points for the last graph
firing = f(crank angle)

I enjoy my single cylinder bikes, but these look so much smoother than the vibrating rocket ships between my legs!

My '77 XS650's sound and vibration reminds me of a happy cat purring when I'm riding. Puts a smile on my face every ride. Great video!

Leave the thought bubbles up longer. Great video. I'm riding my 270* to work this morning.

I had the Yamaha cp2 twin-cylinder, 700cc (approx.), 270 °, 75hp .... the bike was the xsr 700 of 2017 A fantastic engine, with a full delivery and an extension that many other twin-cylinders of equal displacement, I do not know. I also tried the V-twin, 650 cc, Suzuki from VSTROM .... This is also beautiful.

As a kid helping my brother work on his '73 Norton I was shocked to learn both pistons traveling at the same time! As a 12yr old I thought this to be odd

Australian designer Phil Irving came up with the design of 270 twins and it's published in his early books. He also designed the Vincent twins . Through the 70s and 80s english tuners such as Nourish sold crank and camshaft kits to covert Triumphs to a 270 crank!

Another great lesson from Jawa Tino. Back in the day, I bought a new 1968 Honda 450 and found it to be a happy revver, but if it made 45 horsepower the horses were smaller than present day. Also it buzzed all over and got lousy fuel mileage. And the camshafts wore out quickly. I could not wait to trade it in on a CB750 when they became available.

I like the 360 myself makes me smile when I am riding and I like the vibration.

Interesting analysis examining engine configurations regarding crank pin orientation, vs power and vibration qualities.

Honda 450, my first motorcycle, old model, no disk brake, wonderful! in 1975 on the ring road at 130 km/h, gas locked open, moments of terror, the ignition key under the tank ... well ... I'm still here

One of my 2 rides is a 1982 XS650 twin "bobber".
The other is a 1977 XS750 triple "bagger" with FL fairing/windshield (last year with points for Yammie).
DAILY DRIVERS, both : )

Great video. I've owned all three types at one point or another. There is yet one other configuration which is on my 2020 KTM 790 adventure which is a 285 degree crankshaft. I actually like the sound of the old 360 degree cranks but the 270 and particularly the 285 degree work fantastically.

Keep up the good work
