Our 2002 ML500 keeps on going & going 151, 000 and still very tight & fun.
Kinda thirsty but fast & fun with 5.0 V-8 !

I have both and the Benz is mush better to drive in the winter then the 5. The 5 is nicer to drive and more power but I just got back from taking my ml 320 off roading and it didn't get stuck in 3 feet of snow .The 5 is way to heavy in deep snow or mud .

We had that x5 In black until September .. It was a great car. Now we have a new 335i convertible, also great :D

ML320 is amazing. I had one, but I had to sell it because I didn't need it, now I have a C250 CDI and a 240GD.

The ML has aged far better than the X5 and is far more reliable if maintained well

Had an x5 got an ml now they are both sick cars but I do enjoy my ml a little bit more

Have Ml320 2001 and is done 280, 000 and still going, with ML you don't need a pricy mechanic to fix your ML because everything is pretty easy to fix by yourself. And with X5 good luck in replacing your faulty headlight lamp, it would need more than a mechanic to replace it, and sale it before it reaches 180, 000 or you will have nightmares when you drive it. lol

Getting my ml remapped cos it's slower than my defender off the mark but better than the x5 overall i think

The first generation ML was based on body on frame construction with all independent suspension. It was a true all road SUV only after the G wagen.
