University of Cambridge: Can Gene Therapy Help With Vision Restoration?
Scientists at the University of Cambridge have used a gene therapy technique to repair damage to nerve cell transport systems that cause vision loss in glaucoma and memory loss in dementia.

These preclinical studies offer hope that such therapies could be effective in polygenic conditions which do not have a single genetic cause. This work was recognised internationally as significant research that may advance our ability to restore sight to those that are blind or with significant visual impairment by the ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) Point of View Award.

Cambridge Filmworks have partnered with the University of Cambridge to explore this groundbreaking science.
