I always rejected such hedonism since what maximizes pleasure/happiness (however we define it) isn't necessarily well-adapted.

If everyone is happy being antinatalists freeing themselves of the burden of children and even going further to deem reproduction as unethical, they would render themselves extinct in a single generation.
