I can understand how this works. There are many small shields all with individual health and shield meters. When you use a large shield, the space it takes up doesn't match the combined health and shields of the smaller shields that take up the same space.

for those wondering, it works largely because the shots from the shotgun spread out over the surface of all the individual sheild do small amounts of damage to each EP. And thats if all your shotgun pellets hit in their spread.

I just realised when I saw your robot at 0:05, I was training to use my newly acquired Mortar today and met you ingame. I was using a low HP mortar capable of dishing out heavy damage. Except I kept missing :/

small shields have been OP for ages though. Even 2.5 years ago they had a LOT more HP per CPU than normal blocks.
