Bavaria is probably the best place to be stationed abroad for US troops. Quite friendly people, communication is not an issue. And the older folks still remember they lived right next to the Iron Curtain for decades.

I wish we had more military parades at home. Even the air show is gone from where I live.

C130s used to fly over my house on takeoff all the time as a kid and I would always see the loadmasters waving back at me. Haven’t seen a Hercules in years now

The tractor or farm implement parade started in Sunnyside Washington a small farming town. Now you can see this style of parade all over the United state.

People decorate basically anything with christmas lights. Kind of cool.

We love our German community here. My family and I have been here for 3 years and I would 100% retire and stay here

That’s awesome they kept up the tradition. They were doing that back in my day when the 1st Infantry Division was still there. For the record that’s Rose Barracks in Grafenwöhr, Germany.

Fun fact about the Navy, ships that are in maintenance phase or are waiting for their next underway and are moored pierside for the holidays usually decorate the hull with Christmas lights. There’s a competition for best lights on the waterfront.

In Berlin 1970s, we always went to the Army parades. Lots of tanks and equipment! As a child, it was always exciting!

That’s so cool, the US doing things like this is so valuable for building trust with other nations, they should do this wherever possible

Glad to see those vehicles aren’t desert tan or have desert tan mix in them.
Reminds me of when I went into Kosovo in 1999……everything was green and we had the old woodlands. Then Iraq/afghan and Syria….it was all desert tan….even as I retired. Nice to see green again

Oh man, I remember the Oshkosh HEMMT A4. It is a beautiful 8X8 monster of machinery...I was an 88M10 in Heidelberg. 1990-1992. The Berlin Wall had just fallen...the best of times.
