Flood ravaged communities in northern NSW are blaming one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects for making the recent flood disaster last longer and cause more damage. Farmers and locals warned it was going to happen and say they were ignored.

From our home in Woodburn you could clearly see the flood starting purely by the sheer amount of rainfall, and then being held like a dam by the new highway. The water came from the direction of the highway well before the Richmond River broke it's bank.

I live in the Bungawalbin and have noticed the flood events impacting downstream that blocks me in were getting worse and lasting longer. Now we know why.

I lost my place of residence on the clarence river
All i see is people on tv saying how terrible how sad....

when is something going to happen about this situation
we have no where to go!
what can we do???
can any one answer this ???
is this australia?
I feel like a refugee in my own country? in the place i spent my whole life :(

No amount of compensation can comfort any of these poor hard working Aussies let's hope they make a better plan, we should be diverting and saving this water we live in a country that will suffer drought again why haven't they planned to save water for this ?
