This is literally just the "practice every day" tip everyone has heard, but when you call it the Saitama Method, I automatically want to do it more

ONE HUNDRED BOXES, ONE HUNDRED CYLINDERS, ONE HUNDRED GESTURES, 1 HOUR OF LIFE DRAWING, EVERY DAY!

I've realized that consistency is what you need to do to get better, I would always draw whenever I felt like it or had a cool idea pop in my head. A few months ago I tried gesture drawing everyday I only did it for about a week but filled pages full of drawings, I improved so much and my understanding of anatomy and the way the body moves increased greatly. Then I stopped because I had no discipline :/ I hope everyone here and myself can build discipline so we can become the artists we want to be, we just gotta keep at it 💪

i spent 3 months doing figure studies every day for like 3-4 hours per session. my figure drawing improved so much that it’s shocking. a consistent disciplined routine is KEY.

I've been drawing seriously for over a year and realized I didnt reach a level anywhere close to yours. Again, this has been said in the video, but again: train based on discipline. I drew when i felt motivated and spent sometimes weeks without touching a pen and that got me practically nowhere. This video helps me greatly because it gives me an objective, concrete exercises I can practice, and sometimes the best advice comes from someone who's still learning themselves. I am absolutely baffled at your art, and thank you for helping people like me who still need guidance :D

The "Saitama Method" is also a good name for another reason: The creator of One Punch Man, (He goes by name ONE), started making One Punch Man comics back when his art skills were absolutely terrible (which was sort of the joke at first). The funny thing being that he drastically improved his art skills A LOT by consistently drawing the manga despite it all.

Zooming forward, the manga were re-illustrated by another artist, (this is also the art style for the anime) but ONE's other project Mob Psycho was so polished by the time it got an anime, that they didn't have to change styles.

Consistency is definitely the key here. I practiced drawing on again off again for years but it wasn't until 9 months ago that I really hit my stride when I started drawing more consistently. And then 3 months ago I read that experimenting was a necessary step after learning and studying and from there my world expanded. All this time I never realized that I had to expand myself and the keys were consistency and experimenting

I use to draw so much when I was a teen and never learned the fundamentals. I’m now 34 and just getting back into anime and drawing and starting from the ground up. You’re never too old! Thanks for the tips!

finally, someone who ACTUALLY addresses the problem with new artists. I was having a rly hard time trying to find a good way to get gud at drawing, and i practiced drawing but i didnt rly know what i was drawing but i just drew like a lot. When i found out actually what to practice, it went more efficiently for me when i practiced

“Yknow I’m just an artist for fun” all jokes aside I think I improved more when I had something I’m working towards. I’m currently writing and soon to be illustrating my own adventure comic.

Best of luck to you all!

I absolutely agree with what you've said. I also have a system that I use to draw daily and it helped me improve drastically. After some time you don't have to think too much about certain poses. Your body is like, yes, I've drawn this before. Every movement follows simple rules that always repeat themselves. Same goes for effects like explosions or lightning. If you memorize the basics, you'll be able to draw whatever you like :3 great video, thanks for sharing your method!

Just as saitama said humans are strong because they have the power to change. But that change does not happen unless you are determined to.

Ive been drawing since i was a kid and started practicising 2-3 years ago cant say i have drastic improvement but i do have subtle improvements. Whether it was achieving to draw perfectly or draw a somewhat perfect circle in one go. Its up to you if you want to see it as part of your improvement! Bare with it and youll have what you always longed for!

consistency is key and it can be applied to anything. for me, my art really began to improve the more i drew and created. over time, i've found myself being able to create some work that i do like amidst all the bad drawings, and this balance will continue to shift over time. still got a long way to go though. great video! i haven't done any gesture drawing or anatomy practice in a while, but now i feel inspired to get back to it. i also feel motivated to create a more consistent practice for myself. awesome stuff

What a great way of ‘how’ to practice with intention. Look up the ‘Talent Code’. It’s is a perfect illustration of practicing with focus. Thank you!
